I’ll be honest, I’ve never worn a dress quite like this before. I’ve been venturing into different colors and patterns as of late–including this yellow floral print dress from last week–and couldn’t help giving this bold, olive green color a try.

I’m obsessed with shopping vintage, and one of my top spots to snag cool vintage finds in LA is Shareen Vintage. I’ve purchased everything from black, velvet, fur trimmed jackets to peasant dresses there. However, this olive green dress is truly a gem and such a find. Ever since I dyed my hair red, people tell me I should explore all things green, but I’ve been wary about it for fear of looking like a bad version of poison ivy. After giving this color a whirl, or more literally, a twirl, I’ve reached the definitive decision that green is indeed my color and the I plan on shopping it much more often.

Nothing ushers in summer more than a sea of flirty, floral ruffle dresses. The more interesting the floral, the better the dress, and I am in love with this oversized, yellow stargazer print dress. Inspired by Dolce & Gahanna, this stunner has all the right homages to the Italian brand, like the sweetheart, bustier style top and full, voluminous skirt trimmed with ruffles. The upper half of the silhouette says ’50s… but the bottom half is all things current, AKA midi length and covered in cascading ruffles.

Sure, this floral beauty would stand just fine on it’s own. But I like a pop of the unexpected. So, layer a cheeky tee underneath, exposing quirky touches like these little ladybugs and bees that are peeking out from the shoulders. There’s something fun about laid back elegance. I adore taking uber girlie pieces and pairing them with sneakers and basics. Selecting monogrammed kicks is the only option for this dressed up meets down outfit. Plus, a decadent gold necklace and an overly upscale bag add whimsy touches. xx

Trend: Raw Denim

Walking two tone hat

Just when I thought denim couldn’t reinvent itself anymore, raw edge denim came into the world. I am loving the super frayed denim look that’s gracing everything from pant hems to bib-front dresses. I enjoy this style because it still has sophistication–at least, compared to the colossal ripped jeans of yesteryear. I haven’t gotten my hands on frayed, cropped skinny jeans yet, but I did try out the trend with this sweet denim dress.

I’m still not over off-the-shoulder dresses because they are so easy! But for this look, I actually left the elastic on top of my shoulder, instead of pulling it down my shoulders. It felt a bit more fresh than wearing another OTS dress, you know?

I am also loving two tone straw hats. I picked this one up at Target – it’s from the Who What Wear collection, and it was lust at first site. And can we talk about this lip color? It’s from Colourpop (I’m now obsessed) and it’s the colour beeper–definitely worth a try!

The Sweetest Floral Midi

“And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy, and your eyes sparkling.” My mantra, always.

Whether it’s squeezing in a last minute hike or vintage shopping in Silverlake, I’ve been trying to squeeze out every last drop of summer. And, nothing feels more seasonally appropriate than a delicate floral midi dress.

Oasis Fashion has some beautiful pieces for a great price, and I was lucky enough to snag this soft nude floral dress. There’s something about a pleated skirt that makes a girl want to twirl–and what better location to do that than in front of this picturesque green gate in the Hollywood Hills. You can get the same one right here! I went simple with the styling and chose nude strappy sandals that my dad bought for me and a light blue Clove and Revel bag. I adore the way the blue looks against the floral pattern, almost like the sky.

White Eyelet

I’m soaking up the last few weekends of summer and trying to get maximum mileage out of all my favorite warm weather staples. Funny enough, I got this dress almost a decade ago when I interned at Rebecca Taylor. I used to get a ton of free clothes from them (in lieu of getting paid–which I was totally OK with) and this dress was from that.

There’s something so sweet about eyelet, and so undeniably summery. I was inspired by an English tea party for this look, and wanted to create something that felt like I belonged in the English countryside with a delicious cup of jasmine tea. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that this hat pops up often. In order to make it feel fresh, I added on a silk blue scarf to cover up the usually black ribbon, and add an extra feminine touch. A great styling trick to update your go-to hat!

I’ve also recently been into mini bags. Sure, they’re not the most practical, but they are so freaking cute. This one is by Ferragmo and I got it from the Melrose Flea Market. How are you spending the last few weeks of summer? Let me know in the comments!
