The Best Shade of Burgundy Lipstick

Don’t believe me? Try to tell me this isn’t the best shade of burgundy lipstick!

What better way to get dolled up for date night than with burgundy lipstick? Burgundy lipstick is less expected than red, and compliments a wide variety of skin tones. And, it makes your teeth look white!  I like my lips how I like my wine–bold and dark. There is something about a crimson-colored, burgundy lip that is a bit edgier than a classic red lipstick… slightly more daring and risqué, if you will. I j’adore wearing this shade this time of year.

This burgundy lipstick has to be the absolute best shade in the entire world. I know that’s a bold statement, but I’m confident it won’t disappoint. I’m wearing Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lip Color in Deepest Cherry. Maybelline’s Color Sensational line has been a go-to of mine for years, and you can shop my exact color in the link I just shared for less than $8. Back in the day when I started at POPSUGAR, I needed to get a few lip colors to have on hand for filming. So, I went to my local drug store and picked up a few of these and have been hooked ever since.

This burgundy lipstick color has been in my arsenal for years and I heart it so much, and I know you will too! But, there are also some other beautiful options below that also get my full stamp of approval. And finally, why stop there with a burgundy lipstick when you can throw on a burgundy, polka dot scarf too? Get shopping below,

How many of these guys have I worn lately? Too many, but I’m OK with that. Who doesn’t love a stripe dress moment? The real stunners of this look are the silk, peach scarf (which I first wore here) and the super high, “I Dream of Genie” ponytail with a piece of hair wrapped around it. I love this hair style for hot summer days when you want your hair out of your face, but don’t want to feel fully naked with a bun. Chic, simple and great for a few days old hair.

Back to the look – I’m digging the light blue and peach combo. And, I haven’t said no to a bell sleeve yet this season 🙂 So clearly, this striped H&M dress was no exception. I recently got these white leather, Soludos espadrille sneakers – the real seller was the rose gold patch on the bag.

To complete the vintage-y vibe, I went with a pretty woven bag that I got years ago on Nantucket Island. I’ve been loving this bag recently because it reminds me of being a little girl on vacation and it complements so many different looks.

Are you a fan of the super high pony? Let me know! xx

Baby Blues

baby blues 4

Blues the hue! My favorite color took over the runways this year (think: Emilio Pucci, Alexander McQueen, Chloe) so you can expect to see even more blue in my daily attire. I went for head to toe blues for today’s post, and I think I’m in love.

First off, I tried out the cropped flare. I must confess, I was a bit nervous to try out these pants… but once I got them on, I never wanted to take them off! You guys know I have a thing for culottes, so the flared denim crop is a natural extension of that trend.

I adore the way blues and reds look together – maybe that’s why I dyed my hair red (hah.) In fact, the last time I wore this baby blue jacket, I paired it with Continue reading

Another Day, Another Scarf

scarf 1

This title pretty much sums up my mantra… and my style. I have been going hard on the scarf kick recently, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. And, why would I when scarves are just so… awesome. Who doesn’t love a little extra flare? Personally, I love collecting them and using them to express my mood. I also like to give them names… This one I’ve deemed the “clown scarf” because it makes me feel like I’m in a circus. Blue and red is one of my top color combos, too.

Any who, I decided to pair this striped vintage scarf with basics, wearing a white button down shirt tucked into comfy black trousers. That’s really all you need when you have a festive scarf hanging from your neck! I did add on some cool, navy patent booties and pair of blue shades to finish off the outfit. If you can’t tell… blue is my favorite color <3 I actually wore this scarf with bright red pants for an appearance on the FabLife show recently, but I think I like this edgier take a little better. What do you think?

I’ve put together a shopping gallery below so you can shop my look. And as always, I love hearing from you guys so let me know what you think of this outfit in the comments below! xx

Feeling European

euro 3

Do you ever wake up and just feel like transporting yourself to Europe? That’s me just about every day, and some days I like to channel my #wanderlust with my wardrobe.

As you guys know, neck scarves have become a staple of mine. I feel like I’m not fully dressed without them and I love exploring all of the different ways you can incorporate them into a look. For this outfit, I was actually inspired by a scarf style I saw on Danielle Snyder from the jewelry brand Dannijo. On her Instagram, I saw her double wrap a scarf around her neck and then tie it with a cute little knot – so, I did the same thing!

I left my button up open to show off my vintage scarf, and I like how it acts as a choker. This is a really easy relaxed, polished look… white button down, black culottes, and a trench. And of course, a little fashion pattern play with my printed scarf and leopard loafers! The vintage Gucci bag, along with the seemingly European backdrop, really made me feel like I transported myself to a quaint street in Florence, Italy.

Let me know what you think of this outfit in the comments! I love hearing from you guys. And shop my look below 🙂 xx
