I am all about a powerful, red suit these days, no matter what the occasion. A red suit is the perfect way to stand out at a business meeting or at an industry event, and shows that you have confidence. And…who doesn’t want to stand out in a crowd? This red blazer jacket is vintage from my mother, and I like the militant details… like the gold buttons and the stiff mini collar. The jacket and pants don’t actually go together, but they sure look like they do! Together they create the perfect, cherry red suit. I’m all about creating my own suiting by pairing different blazers and trousers together because they’re unique and one-of-a-kind.  read more

Vintage Blazer + Scarf

Ah, my love for vintage grows stronger by the day! I snagged this red, militant jacket from my mom years ago, but I’ve only worn it once. It has a very ’80s sensibility with padded shoulders and a boxy fix, but the attributes I like most about this piece of outerwear are the gold buttons and the streamlined collar. The first time I wore this blazer, I dressed it up with a black turtleneck and trousers, but I’m kinda loving it wiht a more dressed down look.

As you probably know, I haven’t taken these creepers off since I bought them 🙂 And I like the juxtaposition here with the ladylike blouse and scarf with the heavy black rubber shoes. read more

Purple + Red

Playing with an unexpected color palette on the blog today – purple + red! I realized I had both an eggplant colored sweater and blazer that match one another perfectly, so I decided to wear them together. Why not, right? I love pairing less traditional hies together, especially when they are in the same color family. I’m loving the way these two colors bounce off of each other in photos, especially with the retro yellow and green backdrop of Fred 62.

To add a bit more contrast, I went with a light wash pair of slouchy Levi’s, and cuffed them up to show off printed, pointy leopard heels with a thin red ankle strap that coordinates with my red bag!
