How many of these guys have I worn lately? Too many, but I’m OK with that. Who doesn’t love a stripe dress moment? The real stunners of this look are the silk, peach scarf (which I first wore here) and the super high, “I Dream of Genie” ponytail with a piece of hair wrapped around it. I love this hair style for hot summer days when you want your hair out of your face, but don’t want to feel fully naked with a bun. Chic, simple and great for a few days old hair.

Sun Hats and Maxi Dresses

nude maxi dress with hat full_1

Something about a long, flowy maxi dress always manages to make me feel glamorous. Typically, I’ve always steered clear of nudes because I feel they get lost with my skin tone, but something about this pinky, nude number really caught my eye. This nude has just enough pink to stand out against my fair complexion, and dare I say, even compliments it? I love the new take on nudes and how different brands, like Christian Louboutin, are making “nudes” in an array of different colors from porcelain to chocolate. It’s all about finding the right nude! read more

A few years ago, a close friend of mine nicknamed me Miss Frizzle because of my penchant for out-there, grandma-esque prints. I find comfort in things that feel old. I’m not exactly sure why, but I love the idea of something that had a life before me – an item with a story, a history. While it’s not practical for me to wear vintage head-to-toe, I do seek out pieces that have an old-world feel.

This jacket, believe it or not, is from H&M. I pulled it from the H&M showroom a few years ago, and couldn’t bear to part with it. It embodies everything I love in a modern day find: a whacky print and oversized shape. I get asked all the time where this jacket is from… now I’m not sure if they’re Mean Girls-ing me, or really do like it, but because I like to think everybody is nice, I’ll go with the latter.¬† read more

Beanie Weather

Sleek separates and a beanie are the perfect components¬†for a no-fail winter outfit. The temperature in LA has been so on and off, so I’ve been reaching for easy layering pieces that I can take on and off.

Something about this outfit feels so cool and effortless. Perhaps it’s the drop crotch shorts and halter combo, or maybe it’s the addition of the beanie and slick leather boots. Whatever it is, this outfit is so incredibly simple to recreate, and you probably have similar basics already in your closet. read more

Turkish Delight

Istanbul has always seemed like a far off land to me. Everything about it is foreign: the fashion, the rules, the smells, the views. It’s truly a magical place, a melting pot where European and Arabic cultures collide. We only had two days in this magical city, so we really had to make it count.

This is the outfit I wore on the first day in Istanbul when we did most of the sightseeing, like visiting the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topaki Palace, the Grand Bazaar, and the Spice Market. To visit the mosques and places of worship, women have to be full covered up (including head and hair, not pictured here.) read more
