3 Oscar Makeup Looks By Simply Sona!

One of the best perks of my job, I think, is getting to experiment with hair and makeup, especially for marquee events like the Oscars this weekend! And trust me, it’s even more fun when you have a pro helping you out.

I was lucky enough to have Simply Sona create 3 different Oscar-worthy makeup looks, and we decided to film the whole process and put it on youtube! Sona Gasparian is one of the best youtubers out there, and her background as a professional makeup artist coupled with her adorable personality definitely set her apart from the rest.  Take a look at the video below and let me know which look YOU think I should wear on Oscar Sunday! And don’t forget to subscribe to my girl Simply Sona’s Youtube channel and check out her blog and her Instagram 🙂 read more

Beanie Weather

Sleek separates and a beanie are the perfect components for a no-fail winter outfit. The temperature in LA has been so on and off, so I’ve been reaching for easy layering pieces that I can take on and off.

Something about this outfit feels so cool and effortless. Perhaps it’s the drop crotch shorts and halter combo, or maybe it’s the addition of the beanie and slick leather boots. Whatever it is, this outfit is so incredibly simple to recreate, and you probably have similar basics already in your closet. read more

Real-Girl Way to Wear Slip Dress + Chunky Knit

Slip 3

I have always wanted to be “the girl who casually rocks the chunky knit over the slip dress,” but sadly, every time I’ve tried to wear the look I’ve felt like a poser. After chatting with a few of my friends about my slip/ knit debacle, I quickly realized I was not alone. This is NOT an easy look to pull off. Pinterest and Instagram may lead you to think otherwise, but I assure you, if you are not a supermodel, this look can fall flat time and time again.

So, why did I even bother trying to make it work? There is something so effortless about this combo. It’s like, “I just rolled out of bed in my silk chemise. It was cold, so I threw on a sweater. And then added heels, grabbed my bag and viola…” read more

Plaid On Plaid

Nothing says fall quite like a good flannel. I’m an avid supporter of anything checked, and a little plaid goes a long way in my book. I’ve been a fan of plaid since my days in prep school … I actually still wish I had an old plaid, pleated skirt or two, they were so cool!

Any who, it’s still too warm to bust out the plaid flannel shirts, so I’m opting for the next best thing – silk checked shirts and tailored shorts. I actually wore a similar combo a few months ago in NYC, which you can see here on Getty. read more

Little Red Dress

Bold! Bright! Chic! The little red dress is an overlooked wardrobe essential, in my opinion. Sometimes you want to stand out without the effort… which is where this little beauty comes in. I’ve had this dress for about a year now, and I’ve gotten so much wear out of it!

Sure, an LBD or and LWD is a solid option, but why not try out a little dress in a brilliant red shade? I’ve worn this LRD to everything from Fourth of July to Athens, Greece, as seen here. If I’m being honest, which I always am with you guys, Athens was my least favorite stop of my entire trip. It was cool to see the Acropolis (although it was quite the hike,) but as a city, I felt it lacked identity. One area that I found quite cute was La Plage, which translates to marble. Aptly named because all of the tiny streets are made of gorgeous marble (pictured above.) read more
