A LESSON IN COOL: HOW TO PULL OFF FISHNETS TREND

The fishnets trend, easily the most popular look in fashion right now–here’s how to wear it.

Brace yourself, because you’re going to start seeing a whole lot of the fishnets trend on the blog and on Instagram! I’ve been wanting to give these bad boys a go, and I finally bit the bullet a few weeks ago and haven’t looked back. I have somewhat of an obsessive personality–when I get into something, I become obsessed and keep eating / wearing / doing it until I’m over it. And right now, I’m very into the fishnets trend. And it’s easy to see why, right? They’re cool, unexpected, and provide a little bit of warmth. Okay, scratch that last thought, they provide zero warmth but who cares when you look cool? read more

As I mentioned in this post a month or so ago, I have been on a quest to get fit. I’ve always been the type to workout–I thoroughly enjoy exercise classes, dancing, and hiking. However, over the years, I started noticing more and more flab and less toning, despite my regular barre classes and Runyon Canyon visits.

It’s said that “nothing changes, if nothing changes.” So, I set out to change my routine try pilates. I had heard amazing things about Pilates Platinum and decided to really give it a go. I won’t lie, it’s freaking hard. And, it doesn’t get easier, but I love it. Why? Because as you get stronger, you’re able to dig into each move and muscle more. And the funny part is, moves that I thought were “easier” when I started I’m actually now finding challenging, because I now have the strength to do them correctly. Shout out to my fave instructor at the Hollywood Pilates Platinum, Ricky Rebel! read more

Beach days call for lightweight dresses and I love the soft, subtle shade of this nude pink dress. I have very red and pink undertones, so this silk, stripe dress almost perfectly matches my skin. I’ve been heading out to the beach more as of late. I’ve been craving ocean days and a gorgeous view of the rolling waves. Sadly, the June gloom won this day, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the surf and sand.

I wanted to toughen up the look so I added on a thin, black string choker and tie up heels to make the look less girly. What do you think? Do you like? Let me know below! xx read more

Friday Night Inspo

full body night out suede dress with choker

Nothing says *night out* quite like a choker and high boots! I’m sure by now you are well-versed in the fact that chokers are having a HUGE moment. Small, thick, ribbon, leather… just about everyone has worn one in some capacity.

I really like the way a choker looks with a high pony. This choker isn’t actually a choker, it’s a neck scarf from the Who What Wear x Target collection. That’s the beauty of a choker, you can make one with just about anything lying around your house! I still haven’t bitten the bullet and purchased one of those tattoo choker necklaces yet… I used to rock those from Claire’s in grade school! read more

Boho Meets Ladylike

I love restyling things in my wardrobe. I bought this burnt orange, gauzey midi dress awhile ago as a cover up for a vacation. Sure, it’s a little see through, but that didn’t stop me from styling it for a day of meetings around town.

Exposed boudoir is a trend we’ve seen for awhile, so instead of wearing nude undergarments, I decided to go bold and wear black. The trick to making a more bohemian piece – like this midi dress – work beyond the beach is to pair it with structured items. I went with this gray coat that I can’t seem to take off, elevated suede heels, and a structured, vintage bag. read more
