When I saw that ruffles were going to be big this season via a few of my favorite designers, I was skeptical. Sure, I like a little ruffle here and there, but to think that I’m currently mixing two ruffled pieces?  I would have never predicted this! And the cool part is that every designer showed ruffles differently — think Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Zimmerman, Lanvin — which allows for tons of interpretations and reiterations of the trend. My favorite pieces were at Zimmerman.

Anyway, I’ve found myself looking for all the ruffled pieces in my closet. This look is the product of mixing old and new. I got this Line and Dot, off-the-shoulder top last year, and I’ve worn the s*it out of it. It came with me to Tulum, and Greece, and has ventured downtown… And now? The park for an afternoon of reading. The shorts are a new addition thanks to one of my favorite brands, Elizabeth and James. Aren’t these ruffled, navy shorts just darling? I actually started with the shorts and then added on the top for extra sweetness. I’ve FINALLY broken in my Vince flats (they gave me the worst blisters the first 7 wears) so I’m super excited that I can now wear them out without bringing a box of bandaids with me.

You guys know I love a boater hat. Specifically, this boater hat. I have to get some new ones haha I’ve got my eye on the Eugenia Kim one below! How do you feel about the ruffle trend? Let’s talk about it below! xx
