It’s taken me lots of trial and error to find out my personal style. I used to rely heavily on trends to guide me on what to wear. Then, I became really edgy and grungy. I wanted everything to be black, studded, and torn. I got over that phase in a few years, around 2012, and after that, I went super preppy, wearing almost a schoolgirl like uniform on the reg. That phase, too, had an expiration date and I was left with a wardrobe without direction.

I decided to start loading up on the classics. The next step was to identify time periods I liked and related to and styles and silhouettes I felt comfortable in. The 1960s is my favorite decade for fashion. And I love wearing blazers and button-ups. So I kind of started using that as my own sartorial DNA.

Now, I’m still a fashion girl so I’m always going to try new trends. However, this particular outfit really holds true to that ’60s persona I like to channel. I’ve tried to get rid of this white, collarless shirt several times but something always hits me and I keep it. I’m glad I did because it is so chic and great for tucking.

These cream culottes are a favorite of mine. I don’t care if they aren’t flattering, they are awesome and free and make me want to do cartwheels. The scarf is another from my mom’s stash and I love how it just flows in the wind when I walk. I kept the whole look neutral so the scarf was the only pop of color and the result is soft, refreshing, and I think even Jackie O herself might approve. Like what you see? Voluminous Sleeve Stripe Top

Does anything say August quite like stripes and whites? I picked up this oversized sleeve stripe top from Zara a month or so back thinking that it was a dress. However, when I went to wear it, I quickly realized that wearing this piece as a dress (sans pants) was going to be an issue because it definitely wasn’t long enough to be a dress, les sigh. But that’s OK, I’m digging it as a tunic as well.

I’ve been really into oversized sleeves all year long it seems. There’s something about a poufy, dramatic sleeve that I adore so much because it adds such a dramatic element to a look. I also love wearing dresses over jeans, which quickly became the inspo after realizing this piece was indeed not a dress haha. Wearing dresses over jeans almost reinvents the entire piece and breathes new life into a dress you’ve worn over and over again.

I’m a firm believer that you can wear stripes and white all year long, so I’ve rounded up some of the best deals on stripes below! Sadly, this Zara beauty is sold out but I’ve curated a few more of my favorites for you pretties to shop.

Today’s post is super exciting because I’ve teamed up with SEPHORA (omg) to show you guys my five minute, everyday makeup look. My mantra is clean, beautiful skin that glows, so I prefer spending time accentuating my skin and adding gorgeous highlighters instead of covering it up with heavy foundations. Highlighters are my thang, and I’m sharing my three fave highlighters below so you can get #THATHIGHLIGHT too.

Obviously, a good skincare routine is key. But today is all about the glow. Watch my hyper lapse video below, and shop my fave products at Sephora! And of course, if you like this post LMK in the comments so I can do more!

How sweet are these cheeky Soludos sneakers? They are from a collaboration where graphic designer Ashkahn designed a capsule collection for the brand, and I actually got to meet him and talk to him about it. You really can’t help but feel good when wearing these sneakers, right? Snag a pair for yourself right here!

Today’s look is all about summer suiting and millennial pink. I’ve always loved a good suit moment, and summer is the perfect time to play with different color and texture. This pink suit by Smythe is a fave of mine, especially because the preppy pink is juxtaposed with navy sporty stripes down the arms. Playing off the stripes,  I went with navy trousers, cuffed up, and a laid-back white button down from UNIQLO. When choosing summer suiting, you need pieces that look effortless and that breathe–there’s no where I wouldn’t go in this outfit.

I’ve been on a major vintage kick lately. I think because I’m sick and tired of seeing the same sh*t on Instagram. Seriously, everyone looks the same, it’s mind-blowing! There are a few reasons for this… 1) a lot of the same fashion PR places and fashion brands gift more heavily than others 2) when a silhouette becomes popular, every other brand jumps on the bandwagon thanks to fast fashion and 3) because style has become so homogenized.

Which is why I love going to places like Shareen Vintage in downtown Los Angeles. It really is a pretty paradise where you can get lost perusing vintage clothes for hours. I wore this 60s vintage dress years ago for Coachella and decided to bring it out of the woodworks, pairing it with seemingly fitting Docs and white sunglasses. This outfit feels decidingly British, and I love it. What do you think?
