I’m a sucker for a matching set. I think it’s due in part to Taylor Swift, and also my mother for putting me in countless matching Laura Ashley sets back in the ’90s. I always find myself reaching for matching two piece outfits, probably because they are easy and always look good.
Now, I’m not usually a fan of pink clothes (however; I am obsessed with pink walls) but, I made an exception because I was really drawn to this print and the key hole cut out on the top. I felt very exposed with the bare arms, cut out, and short shorts all together, so I threw on one of my absolute favorite blazers – this 3.1 Phillip Lim cut away jacket that has the prettiest lines and almost looks like a cape when draped over the shoulders.
As for the accessories, I was having a hard time picking a shoe. Since the shorts are short, I wanted to wear shoes that continued to elongate my legs instead of cutting them off, so boots and black shoes were both out. These blush pointy toe heels almost match my skin tone, I like to think of them as my personal version of the nude heel, since most nudes are much more yellow then my skin tone. They were the perfect choice, giving me the leg-lengthening effect I wanted and simultaneously adding a monochromatic element to the look. My trusty Alexander Wang bag was all I needed to finish the outfit!
I wore this out for dinner and cocktails – want to get my happy hour look? Shop below!
