HOW TO STYLE A BLACK SLIP DRESS WHEN IT’S FREEZING:

If there is one trend that has reigned supreme for quite some time, it’s the black slip dress. Whether you’re scrolling through Instagram or out-and-about, it’s hard not to come across at least one fashion forward lady working a midi-length black slip dress. I’ll be honest, I feel a bit better wearing this trend when I’m more covered up, as shown by my past looks wearing le slip dress. I’ve never been one that likes to show a ton of upper body / arms / chest–I prefer shorter things, like minis–so the idea of legit wearing a black slip dress in public sounds rather frightening.

However, I know a black slip dress in the winter sounds like an oxymoron. But, the magic is in the layering. Here I took a midi length, black slip dress and layered it over a gray turtleneck. For drama and length, a large collar camel coat; and for warmth, a gray knit beanie and ankle boots from Acne. I toyed with the idea of wearing fishnets with these but decided to save those for another post 🙂
