Bundled up for a (final) day of Christmas shopping! It is the last shopping day before Christmas (cue the song, did anyone else sing that in a holiday play growing up?) and I always find myself in the same predicament… 1 day and a bajillion gifts left to buy. You would think, since I basically live on the internet for both work and pleasure, I would burn through my gift list with a single swipe, but for some reason I tend to not like the things I order online for other people. Now, when it comes to myself, I can buy anything anywhere and love all of it. But for some reason, when it comes to my loved ones, I have a hard time shopping for them!
Ok so now that I spent even more of my morning on that little rant, let’s get out of the house before I actually run out of daylight hours. The shortest day of the year was Monday December 21st, you know. So for this outfit I wanted something casual and layered. There are not many indoor malls near where I live, so I spend a majority of the day walking outside to-and-from my car and in-and-out of stores. For that very reason, my shopping outfits are all about a great statement coat that does all of the work for me. Enter: this Zara plaid coat I got on sale over a year ago. I used to almost strictly shop at Zara, and if you’re a loyal Zara shopper, you KNOW how great those seasonal sales can be.
Underneath, I went for a high neck, slouchy sweater dress that I layered over a pair of jeans. The sweater is actually sleeveless, which I love because you can wear slim-fit coat arms without looking like a linebacker. The styling really happens with the accessories here: a little blue bandana and these awesome snakeskin boots from the Office of Angela Scott. Oh, and a good cup of Intelligensia joe to get me pumped up!
