Holiday Leopard

I’m not a sparkle person, but I do like to “up” my outfits during the holiday party season. While you probably won’t spot me in sequins or sparkles often (I stray away from never these days because you really never know,) I do like to amp up my look using classic prints and dressier accessories.

Even though this look is all about a great coat, I actually want to tell you guys about the sentimental value of the shoes first. This might sound a bit #firstworldproblems, but these heels mean a lot to me. My Junior year of college, I was lucky enough to study abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne through New York University. I got to spend my days soaking up French culture, and studying the language and French journalism. When not in class, you could find me reading a book in Jardin du Luxembourg, exploring an off-beat museum, or… shopping. Ah, the shopping in Paris, you really can’t beat it. I initially set out for Paris with one purchase in mind — a pair of Christian Louboutins. I know, pretty fancy shoe for a college student. To me, Christian Louboutin symbolized the pinnacle of Parisian chic, and I wanted something special that I would remind me of my Parisian days forever.

So, during my last week in the city, I made my way over to Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and purchased my very first pair of Louboutins. But this story gets better. After landing my dream job as a TV Host and Producer for POPSUGAR, I had the privilege of interviewing Christian Louboutin and having my first pair of Louboutins SIGNED by the man himself. You can actually watch the video right here. I still smile thinking about that moment.

OK now that I got that little trip down memory is over, time to talk about the rest of my outfit! I’m all about LBDs for the holidays because you can play up your accessories. Currently I’m going through a mock neck phase, so I snagged an LBD from with a little turtleneck — I like the way it peaks out from underneath a great coat! This leopard lover is a go-to of mine because of it’s structured silhouette and minimal aesthetic. For holiday parties, people tend to feel the need to wear festive embellishments, like sparkles, but I think you can feel equally as glam by using prints and special shoes 🙂

Do you like this outfit? I’ve picked out some fantastic options you can shop below! Let me know! xx
