Dressed Up Christmas Eve

Do you remember the holidays being more formal when you were younger? I’m not sure if it was just the area that I grew up in, but I always remember Christmas being this uber glamorous holiday, specifically Christmas Eve. We would all get dressed up in our best festive dresses, tights and mary janes and head over to our friends annual Christmas Eve party. And, it was wonderful and you could feel the magic of the season. I definitely miss those days, and I’m trying to spearhead their return. So, even though we didn’t do anything nearly as glam as the holiday parties of years’ past… I decided to put on a fancy outfit this Christmas Eve.

I reached for this gorgeous burgundy, lace skirt with a sexy peek-a-boo effect down the leg, and a black, fitted peplum. The rest is simple — my DIY YSL tassel earrings and my go-to strappy black heels, and voila! Channeling Christmas Eve magic all over again. And you know what? I felt more festive and excited and all those yummy warm feelings by putting on something special — I highly recommend it! It’s amazing what clothing can do for our mind, body and soul. We forget sometimes that getting dressed can be much more than throwing on pieces in our closet, it’s one of the most personal reflections of self-expression and has a much larger hold on our mood and confidence than even I had realized. So, cheers to dressing up, feeling great, good wine and lots of love this Christmas Eve.
