Need an easy outfit that takes little effort but still looks chic and polished? Of course you do. We all do! My no fail outfit recently has been bold trousers tempered with all black. This time around, I went for my favorite color … red (besides black or gray, or course.) I went with a sheer turtleneck, blazer, pointy heels, and funky glasses to add some edge to the whole look. Bold stripes have popped up on the Spring runways for the past several years — and it’s easy to see why. They’re undeniably cheerful, a bit nautical, and most definitely patriotic, which makes them the perfect warm weather pattern. I’ve been itching to get my hands on a bold stripe piece for awhile, so I was delighted when I saw these high-waisted culottes (which are my new obsession.) Daring? Yes, but definitely worth the risk. I paired them with a fitted, cobalt blue top to balance out the voluminous pants and show off a little shape. Then for the shoes, I originally reached for white two strap heels, but then last minute switched ’em out for these tangerine sandals. What do you think of this look? Let me know!
For starters, this trend is not for the shy! It takes a lot of confidence to pull this off. I like to think that I have a ton of confidence, especially since I am an on-air host by trade and you kind of have to in this profession, but just a few seconds into the application of this basically black lip color, and I too started having doubts.
The vice? Too Faced’s Melted lip color in villain. I find the name of this color so incredibly perfect, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I kind of felt like the Hamburgler while rocking this shade (a villain who steals burgers is the best kind of villain, after all.)
I have to admit, when I first saw this Keepsake the Label two piece, I didn’t want to try it on. Not because I didn’t like it, but frankly, I’m just not really a into lace. Especially the kind that has a nude underlay so it looks like you’re naked underneath. It just feels a bit too bare and unfinished for me.
I now bite my tongue because I fell in love with this crop top and high-waisted culotte combo the second I put it on. The tight, fitted top sucked me in and made my waist look small, which is crucial when wearing oversized, wide-leg, calf-grazing trousers. I’ve been really into the culotte trend so expect to see many more. I also loved how the nude lining almost matched my skin perfectly. Being really pale, I find that most neutral “nude” slips are far too dark and/or yellow and look quite sallow and sad against my pale pinky skin. I thought about wearing the pants with a solid black crop top –– then thought, why not just go for the full set.
I have been on a real navy kick lately, so I thought, what better way to kick off one of my favorite weeks of the year with my new go-to hue? Enter: every piece of navy I could get my hands on.
Massimo Dutti top and trousers; 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli bag; Balenciaga wallet; Mango coat
I started off my day with Noon by Noor, and I think I found the dress I want to wear next week to the Oscars –– finger’s crossed! I love the muted gray hue punctuated with those heavily embellished sleeves. After that, it was off to ICB by Prabal Gurung at The Glass Houses. I could live in every single look in this presentation. And the rug game was really strong, need all of these for my new place.
