Nothing ushers in summer more than a sea of flirty, floral ruffle dresses. The more interesting the floral, the better the dress, and I am in love with this oversized, yellow stargazer print dress. Inspired by Dolce & Gahanna, this stunner has all the right homages to the Italian brand, like the sweetheart, bustier style top and full, voluminous skirt trimmed with ruffles. The upper half of the silhouette says ’50s… but the bottom half is all things current, AKA midi length and covered in cascading ruffles.

Sure, this floral beauty would stand just fine on it’s own. But I like a pop of the unexpected. So, layer a cheeky tee underneath, exposing quirky touches like these little ladybugs and bees that are peeking out from the shoulders. There’s something fun about laid back elegance. I adore taking uber girlie pieces and pairing them with sneakers and basics. Selecting monogrammed kicks is the only option for this dressed up meets down outfit. Plus, a decadent gold necklace and an overly upscale bag add whimsy touches. xx

I know, I know–fishnets are everywhere. And I’ll be honest, they’re getting a tad overplayed. But, I shot this look back in February and didn’t have time to blog about it until now. While I am growing tired of fishies under jeans (unless they’re supper baggie tattered jeans) I’m still feeling fishnets under pants in the form of sporty slacks, tuxedo trousers and joggers. It’s this unique balance of spray and trashy / sexy that seems to work well together.

This look is a combination of all things that I love–it’s comfortable, it’s cool, and you can really go anywhere in it. I think I actually wore this look on Super Bowl Sunday. . .

Another thing I’ve been digging as of late is the unbuttoned button down, buttoning only the top two and letting the rest of the shirt billow free. There’s something about a peek of midriff that feminizes the outfit. It also shows off the exposed band of the fishnets, which is a fun little surprise.

On a different note, I hope you all have been following my travels over on my Instagram! In the past two months I’ve visited NYC, London, Cuba, Dubai, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs for Coachella. To say it’s been a whirlwind is an understatement, but I’ve also grown behind on my blogging. It’s also pushed me to really evaluate what I like creating and what you guys like reading. Are you still into seeing outfit posts? Or do you enjoy areas like beauty or travel more? Or perhaps, just more of a mix? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

I’ve always had a soft spot for the military trend. I adore the structure and status of a military jacket–clean, tailored lines, shiny gold buttons, and if you’re lucky, a shoulder pad. There’s something so undeniably chic about the military trend, which is why I am so excited to shop spring military jackets right now. Sure, you can wear them with a basic tee and jeans, but I like to get crafty with them. Recently, I styled this vintage military blazer with a lace dress and tights for an irreverent, British vibe. This go around, I made my look more spring with a long, stripe blouse (worn here) over a mini skirt with Chelsea boots. The result is this perfect hybrid of militant, school girl chic with a dash of elegance via sleek accessories. Long shirts with barely there skirts add an unexpected twist to the classic military blazer and pant uniform, don’t you think? I can’t wait to add even more spring military jackets to my wardrobe, which is why I’ve rounded up my favorites for you to shop below!

You can’t deny that ruffles have been having a major moment. Whether it’s a ruffle hem, sleeve or neckline, ruffles keep popping up in unexpected places. My new fave way to wear them is on bold ruffle sleeve tops. Something about large, voluminous sleeves adds extra drama to even the most basic jeans and heel combos.

The only downfall of wearing bold ruffle sleeves is that you can’t put them into just any jacket because your arms won’t fit. My solution? A pretty tuxedo vest so that my bold ruffle sleeves can have their moment. This whole look is classic and simple–perfect for running around town for a day of meetings and events! Also–how gorgie is my bright plum Burberry lipstick? It’s the most delicious shade of rich pink. Shop my exact look below, along with more of my fave ruffle sleeve tops in the shopping gallery!
