As you guys know, I am constantly updating my beauty arsenal. I am a big fan of masks and peels, and love switching things up and trying new things depending on what my skin needs are. Recently, I have been trying a ton of new makeup products on my face, so I’ve been dealing with clogged pores and blackheads, ugh. But the upside is I’ve been experimenting with a few different at-home peels and masks that I have really fallen in love with! Here are my currently favorites right now.

Welcome to another installment of my weekly Beauty Edit! I am very passionate about no-makeup makeup, and I love trying out new tinted moisturizers and sheer foundations. In fact, I rarely wear medium or full coverage foundations because I like seeing skin.
You read that right, I like to see my skin! Believe it or not, I actually like the way my skin looks–freckles and all–which is a rare thing in the world of beauty bloggers and vloggers. I spend a lot of time taking care of my face with a relatively rigorous nighttime routine (I use about 10 different products and follow a somewhat Korean skincare regime,) so that I can have pretty skin… so that I don’t have to cover it up. A simple concept that I think a lot of people forget.
I have been obsessed with trying out new beauty products since I was a kid. My earliest memory of beauty was when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I remember my dad giving me a small bottle of Navy, a popular perfume in the ‘80s by Procter and Gamble, where my dad worked. I later learned that the bottle was merely travel size, but I still like to hold onto the memory that that Navy bottle was made just for me. Beauty is one of the most intimate relationships that we have with ourselves — the products that we choose to layer on our largest organ, the scent that we enjoy, a go-to hairstyle, the lip color we wear… All of these choices that we make from the millions of options that are advertised to us every single day. Navigating the beauty industry is a job in itself. What products are great? Which ones just have great marketing? And what underdogs deserve more attention? I currently create beauty videos for Refinery29, so I thought, why not start doing a beauty edit on my blog? It seemed like a natural fit. So I present to you, my skincare beauty edit.
If you didn’t know that I am obsessed with anti-aging products / gadgets / procedures… now you do. I want to look as young as I can for as long as I can, and I’m willing to go to some pretty crazy lengths to preserve my youth. I have been getting botox for about 5 years now – and I’m not even 30 yet. It might sound insane to some, but working on-camera as a TV host can do a number on your psyche. Seeing my face gradually get more and more fine lines and wrinkles started to really freak me out, so I decided to do something about it. My biggest “problem” areas are my forehead and my smile lines, both of which are considered to be very active (i.e: my face has always been super expressive) which is OK, but at some point the wrinkles found permanent crevices in my skin… and that’s when I started to panic.
